“It looked like the world was covered in a cobbler crust of brown sugar and cinnamon.”
— Sarah Addison Allen, First Frost
Hello, Beauties! It’s official – Fall is here! As you can imagine, that’s a harsh realization for someone who likes to sips frozen cocktails on a “long hot summer night” (yes, I just quoted Jessica Jay’s Casablanca here).
Anyway, I can’t do much about the changing of the seasons, but at least I can take the best out of it. Since I am focusing more on practicing mindfulness every day and living in the present moment, I am planning to squeeze every drop of joy that Fall has to offer.
How I’ll do that you may ask? By focusing on the positive aspects of the season and enjoying every moment as it is. So here are 6 things I actually love about Fall and that kind of make me excited about this time of the year.
1. Candles, Candles and More… Candles!
If you didn’t realize by now – I LOVE SCENTED CANDLES! The warmth, the soft light, the coziness they provide – true bliss! There is nothing like the spicy sweet aroma of baked goodies that lingers around the house, coming from the flickering flame of a burning candle. Since, I am not much of a baker, this fragrance would rarely come out of my oven. Some of my favorite scents for the season are vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon. In my pursuit to find the perfect candle I went to the extend to create my own brand of eco friendly scented candles. Although, I decided to stop this project for now, who knows what the future may bring!
2. Pumpkin Spice Everything
The well-known blend of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and cloves that I want to sprinkle over my entire life is in full blast during the Fall season. You can buy it or make it yourself – it doesn’t really matter! What matter is, how and where you are going to use it. If all you can think of is Pumpkin pies and lattes here are few more ideas – Smoothies, Black coffee, cookies, Overnight oats and Porridges, body and lip scrubs, body butters…
As I said – sprinkle it on everything!
3. Snuggles and Books
There are only few things that are better in this world than snuggling under a giant, fluffy blanket with a steaming cup of hot cocoa and a great book in your hand. Rainy days and books are a match made in heaven and I would argue with anyone who thinks otherwise. I already have a mile long list worth of great books that I want to read until the end of the year, but I would save it for another post if you are interested. I am really into the Law of Attraction at the moment and currently I am reading Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill and The Magic by Rhonda Byrne. I recommend both of them, so if you have the chance add them in your collection.
What are you reading right now? Let me know in the comments!
4. Tea Heaven
I used to hate drinking tea when I was a kid! I don’t know what I was thinking back then but I am happy that’s no longer the case. Tea literally warms my soul (and body) in the cold days and I am obsessed to grow my collection of fine blends. While the green tea is my all time favorite, I like to add more spices in the Autumn for some extra cosiness and warmth. Cinnamon, ginger, cloves and saffron, not only smell great but also have that oriental vibe going on, that just goes perfectly with the rainy days.
5. Netflix and Chill
There is no better time to catch up on your favorite show than Fall. The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder, so staying at home and binging on pizza and “The Big Bang Theory” sounds like the perfect plan to me. I am also really excited for the newly released “Young Sheldon” – it looks very promising right from the start. Any suggestions for good movies? Hit them in the comments, please! 🙂
6. New Wardrobe
Either you go to a full blown makeover shopping spree or just want to add few pieces to your collection, changing your wardrobe for the new season it’s always fun. The lovely blush that was dominating the shop windows the whole summer is still on fire during the fall/winter season. Navy blue and dark burgundy, which are one of my favorite colors for this time of the year are also on trend. Hot red, olive green, camel and light gray are further among the designers’ favorites.
I am refining and changing my style at the moment and I realized that I miss few basic essentials. So here is what I got the other day – two basic, yet quite chic blouses from Bershka in blush and olive green (not in the photo) and a lovely knitted cardigan in burgundy from LC WaiKiki. I would probably do an outfit of the day any time soon. What are your essential pieces for the season?
Well, that was for today, Beauties! Those are few of the things that make me excited about Fall!

Yes, I love the colors too! The nature is so pretty during the Fall!

I love how it starts to get dark earlier. That has to be my favourite. There is just a warm and cosy blanket in the air and it envelopes us all in Fall!
