She had two lips like strawberries, and the seeds gave her kisses texture. I preferred kissing her over two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
— Jarod Kintz, This Book Has No Title

Hey, Beauties! It’s time for another DIY here on the blog. You can kiss your chapped lips away and say goodbye. No more dryness and painful cracks.
I made for you the perfect lip care combo which will help you to achieve envy – worthy pout. All you need is 10 minutes of your time and few nourishing ingredients. See that quote above? That’s how your lips are going to look and feel like – better than two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Yummy!

For these two recipes I used coconut oil, cocoa butter and shea butter. The reason why I picked those ingredients is because they are extremely moisturizing and will provide your lips with essential vitamins such as A, E and F. Furthermore these natural oils/butters act as a protective shield against the sun, wind and cold. If you want to know more about the properties of Cocoa and Shea butter and Coconut oil let me know in the comments below.

 Homemade Vegan Lip Scrub

You Are Going To Need:

Lip Scrub

  • 1/2 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tsp shea butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp coconut/brown sugar
  • 2 pinches of cinnamon
  • clean container

Instructions:

1. Start with disinfecting your containers by cleaning them with clean towel and rubbing alcohol.
2. After that melt the coconut oil and the shea butter using the double boiling method.
3. Remove the melted oils from the stove and add the cinnamon and the sugar. Give it a good stir.
4. Transfer the mixture in the container of your choice and pop it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
5. When you take your lip scrub out of the fridge there is a high chance that the sugar is on the bottom. If this is the case mix everything well with a toothpick and pop it in the fridge again for another 30 minutes.

You Are Going To Need

Lip Balm

  • 8 grams cocoa butter
  • 1/3 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/3 tsp shea butter
  • if you want some color you can add pieces of an old lipstick (optional)
  • clean container

Instructions:

1. Start with disinfecting your containers by cleaning them with clean towel and rubbing alcohol.
2. After that melt the cocoa butter, the coconut oil and the shea butter using the double boiling method.
3. Remove the melted oils from the stove and add the few pieces of an old lipstick (optional). Give it a good stir.
4. Transfer the mixture in the container of your choice and pop it in the fridge for 40-50 minutes.

How To Use Them:

1. Apply a generous amount of the lip scrub on clean lips.
2. Using circular motions rub the lip scrub until all the sugar is disolved.
3. Gently removed what is left on your lips with hot damp towel.
4. Apply the lip balm and enjoy your smooth pillowy lips.
