“The average consumer does not feel very powerful, but it’s the exact opposite. When we run an item past the supermarket scanner, we are voting for local, or not, for organic, or not…”
Hey, Beauties! I don’t know about you but before I purchase something I want to know what I spend my money for. With every dime we spend we are voting for what we believe is right or what is wrong. I just want to make sure that I am on the right page and I do my research first.
This is the reason why I am starting a new series of blog posts called Brand Lovin’. With Brand Lovin’ I am aiming to create a guide to cruelty-free companies. There are many companies that do not label their products as cruelty-free and/or vegan but still don’t support animal testing.
Each post of this series will introduce you to a cruelty-free company that I like and use its products. Furthermore I’ll provide you with general information about the company and any interesting details.
The first company that is in the spotlight is W7 Cosmetics. There is no particular reason why I chose this company to be the first in my series. Anyway, they are super fun and colorful so I believe I made the right choice for a starter.
If you haven’t heard about them, don’t worry. I didn’t know anything about them as well until recently. The thing is that they are pretty new to the Danish market and I have seen them only in Normal. If you know other places where they sell W7 Cosmetics please let me know in the comment section below.
W7 Cosmetics is a UK makeup brand found in 2002 by two entrepreneurial young men (according to their website).
Over the years the company has grown and their makeup range now exceeds over 500 products including: nail polishes, lipsticks and glosses, eyeshadows and more mascaras than you can imagine (It’s true! They have tons of them.)
In other words, W7 Cosmetics offers affordable makeup products with pretty good quality and some fancy packaging going on.I might even take the frivolity to say that the quality is great compared to what they are charging for.
However, please note that this is only my first impression since I didn’t have the chance to try their products for a long time, but I’ll keep you posted.
Oh, and they have awesome dupes but it’s a completely different story which will be told in another post.
Anyway, what sealed the deal for me was neither the price or the packaging but the fact that they are cruelty-free. Since I wasn’t able to find any information about their cruelty-free policy on the products or their website I sent them an email. For me it was a surprise to get such fast response so I give them credit for that!
Here is their answer:

“Hi LiliThank you for your enquiry, I can confirm that none of our products or their ingredients are tested on animals. We do not manufacture the products ourselves but know the route to market for all the ingredients we use, in fact we are currently in the process of applying for cruelty status and the bunny logo.
Our products are made globally some in the UK, some in Europe and some in the far east, but our standards are maintained wherever they are manufactured.
I hope this answers your questions.
Kind regards”
Now that’s just awesome! Huge variety to choose from, affordable prices, good quality, cool packaging and all this wrapped up with cruelty-free bow.
You can’t find this every day, can you?
Stay tuned for upcoming reviews of W7 Cosmetics. I can promise you that a lot of them are coming. We don’t have much of a choice here in Denmark regarding makeup companies and additionally so few of them are cruelty-free. So when I find new makeup brand which covers all of the above, I just can’t help it! I am getting excited!

Thank you so much! It’s so sweet of you! I have tried only one of their mascaras but I am not impressed. However, I would definitely try the one that you recommend. I also bought their Banana Dream Setting Powder today, and I am excited to give it a try. :)))
Lots of Hugs

Hi, do you know if their ingredients are vegetarian or vegan?
Thanks for the post!
Hey, lovely!
That’s a very good question. I sent additional email to ask the company but I haven’t received any answer. I’ll try to contact them again and we’ll see.
Wish you a fabulous day! <3 xxx
W7 are not listed with PETA or LEAPING BUNNY PROGRAM read some of their ingredients as well 🙁
That is true 🙁
They haven’t answered me about the ingredients and I found out that some of them are not vegan. Cruelty-free however is not equal vegan, so they can still be cruelty-free and not performing animal testing. Which is sad, I know.
I don’t try to justify them by any means… Just stating the facts.
Thank you for your comment 🙂
Much love! <3
Hi Lily,
Thanks for this post, it’s really useful. W7 cosmetics are sold in Choice Discount Stores (the ones that do all the NEXT and high street clothing at a discount). You can pick up their colour palettes there for around £6 x
You are welcome Laura!
I am happy that I can help.
However, I haven’t got answer from them regarding their ingredients.
Have a wonderful day!

Hi Lily! Thanks for the info. Did they write you back about what kind of ingredients they use in their products? Thanks for everything!!
Hey Fiore and thank you for the comment!
No, they haven’t but as we are discussing with Angela I found out that some of the ingredients are not vegan 🙁
Wish you a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!
It means a lot! 🙂

Hi lily can please tell if Technic test on animals because I have some of their products and they are very but I’m quit sure if the test on animals please reply ?
Hello Abeera,
Thank you so much for your comment. I was almost sure that Technic Cosmetics does not test on animals but I wanted to check it before, replying to you. I am happy to report that, Technic Cosmetics DO NOT test on animals and this include the final products as well as the ingredients. Furthermore, this is what I found:
"All Technic products are suitable for vegetarians but some of the brands’ products do contain animal by-products, such as Beeswax and Lanolin and therefore are not suitable for vegans.
Current Technic products not suitable for vegans:
6051 Pressed Powder Compact (Contains Lanolin)
27603 Fruity Lip Balm (Contains Beeswax)
6908 Duo Eyeliners and Pencil Sharpener (Contains Beeswax)"
This is absolutely amazing in my opinion since (as it seems) most of their products are actually vegan.
I hope this gives you the information that you looked for. Let me know if you have more questions or if there is brand which you want to see in my series.
Wish you fabulous day!
Lily, xoxo

Great site. I’m excited to learn about cruelty free products x
Thank you! Means a lot xxx
hi,Lily,,,I have came across your blog while searching about W7…I’m from Turkey and in here we do not have many alternatives which are cruelty-free or vegan, either–unf. However W7 is on the Turkish market since July 2017 and I am very happy that you also confirm that they are cf and moreover they have a vegan range of products…♥ I’ll definetly give a try to some of their collections but I wish they had a leaping bunny logo because as far as I know the company manufactures in only UK,not China…Am I wrong? pls let me know about it….Thank you very much for ur information and being an real animal lover♥
have a great day…xo
Hello Nil,
Thank you very much for your comment. As fas as I know they are not manufacturing only in UK. However, even if they manufacture in China they are NOT obligated to test on animals. Many companies still manufacture in China and are cruelty-free.
The laws for animal testing apply only if a company wants to SELL in China.
If you want to stay on the safe side you can choose only their Vegan collection as the vegan logo verifies that the company/product is also cruelty-free on 100%.
I hope this information is helpful. Let me know if you have more questions. I would be happy to help you!
Have a great day 🙂
Much love,
Lily xoxo
