Beauty Swap with Miah Ke-leigh Cruelty - Free Makeup

I think women should wear whatever makeup they want for themselves. Makeup should be fun.

— Emma Stone

Hello, Beauties! It’s been awhile since my last post, I know.
I was lacking inspiration and motivation for writing and I was even considering to quit blogging for good. There were no particular reason for this – I just wasn’t feeling it like I used to. Plus, I am constantly overwhelmed for not being able to post consistently.
Anyway, I put my heart and soul in this blog and I really love blogging so the good news is that I will keep doing it. I am considering some changes in the structure and the content but I am not quite sure yet how it will turn out. If you have any suggestions and topics that you are interested in, please let me know. Now, after this short (but needed) confession let’s get to the to the point.

If you read my post on How To Do a Beauty Swap Stress Free, then you’ve probably expected to finally see the swap itself. If you haven’t seen my post and you don’t exactly know what is a Beauty Swap, you can go and check it out and I’ll be waiting for you right here. You ready?

Me and my friend Miah, decided to do a cruelty-free / vegan swap for obvious reasons. As we agreed prior to the swap she got me makeup exclusively, while I got her… Well, you can actually see for yourself – HERE

So here is what I found when I opened my box

Beauty Swap - Cruelty - Free Makeup

Essence “Shape Your Face” – Contouring Palette

I’ve been eyeing this palette for a while so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it in the box. The colors are pigmented but not too much, so you can go light or go crazy by building it up – depending on your preferences and your mood 😀 Very easy to blend and it looks natural! I love it!

KIKO Milano EYESHADOWS

Two gorgeous colors from KIKO Milano. I’ve never used this brand before but I really like those eye shadows. The gold one (№200), can be used wet and dry and it’s absolutely amazing – it has the most beautiful shimmer. The red one is in color 137 and is also very pigmented and shiny. KIKO Milano is a cruelty – free brand but you should know that the red eyeshadow contains carmine, which is sad really. I can’t understand why cosmetic brands still insist on putting crushed beetles into makeup products.

Brow Mascara & Eye Pencil

Brow Define is a tinted mascara from MUA Makeup Academy. Another cruelty – free company that I haven’t used before and another pleasant surprise. This product is amazing and makes my eyebrows awesome without much of an effort. For a reference mine is in color Dark Brown. The 2 in 1 Eyeshadow & Liner pencil is from my beloved Essence. It’s in color “01 go bronze” and it’s perfect on it’s own or as an eyeshadow base. Extra points comes from the fact that it is easy to blend, long lasting and waterproof.

Who Said Lipstick?

I shared with Miah that I don’t have many lipsticks and she took the matter in her hands. And I am so grateful for that. I can rarely pick a suitable lipstick color for myself, but Miah did a great job! All of the lippies are amazing – I love the colors, the formulas, the textures. Love, love, love! She got me lipstick in color Dusky from Makeup Revolution, Velvet MATT in color 24 by Essence and my absolute favorite – Megalast Lipcolor by Wet’n’Wild in color “In The Flesh“.

Cruelty - Free Lipsticks from Essence, Wet ' n ' Wild and Makeup Revolution The next one is more of a lip gloss, although is very pigmented and has intensive color. This is Glazed Lip Paint by L.A. Girl – another brand that I’ve wanted to try for a long time. The lip gloss is in color Pin-Up and the package represents it quite accurately – beautiful deep red. Gives you an extra glossy finish and a tingling sensation from the peppermint oil inside.

Makeup Revolution Eyeshadows

These two Mono Eyeshadows from Makeup Revolution are in the colors Mountains of Gold and Mocha Love. I instantly fell in love with the pigmentation and the texture. The colors are phenomenal and the best part is that there is so much product in these, they’ll last for ages.

Wet’n’Wild Color Icon

This eyeshadow trio is in shade Walking on Eggshells and it’s been my go to for an everyday makeup lately. Nice neutral colors with a bit of a shimmer, which makes it perfect to wear during the day. The eyeshadows are creamy and easy to blend. However, I didn’t like the applicator and the little brush. They’ll do the job if you are on a go but for perfect application I prefer my brushes.

Face Mask & Nail Polish

Last but not least in the box were these bubble gum face mask by Dr Van Der Hoog and Pretty Paint nail polish from JT ONE. To be honest I haven’t tried them yet, so I can’t really give you more info, but I promise to get back to you when I do.

Pretty Paint by JT One nail polish and face mask cruelty - free Miah did an amazing job and I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to her one more time, because she deserve it. It was a great pleasure to do the Beauty Swap with her and I am glad that we choose each other since this experience was new for both of us. Don’t forget to check her blog here and show her some love!  If you want to learn more about her you can also check her guest post on my blog right here.

Have you done a Beauty Swap Before? What was your experience?
