It’s a smile, it’s a kiss, it’s a sip of wine… It’s summertime!
— Kenny Chesney

Hey, Beauties! Summer is finally here! Well, maybe not in Denmark but you got my point.

It’s that time of the year when all you have to do is to book tickets for an exotic place, pick your favorite bikini and mentally prepare yourself for a week (or two) worth of sun, salty skin and Pina Colada.

I love to travel and for me the summer holiday is one of the most anticipated times of the year. However my excitement dramatically decreases every time  when I start thinking about packing.
I hate packing as much as I adore traveling, you should know that.

My main problem basically is that I want to (no, I insist to) take the whole house with me.
Yep… and apparently no airline allows that!?!
So if you have the same problem as I do, the tip that I am about to share with you will save you a lot of money, time and space.

I know it sounds impossible but keep reading and you’ll see I am right.

What I am gonna share with you is not some fancy trick how to fold the 12 dresses that you want to take for 7 days holiday, which by the way might proof useful (so if you know how to do it, please share in the comments below).
No, what I am talking about is how you can actually free some space for those 12 dresses and 8 pairs of shoes.

Some of you may know that I am crazy about carrier and essential oils and I pretty much substitute all of my cosmetics with them. I prefer using oils because they are natural source of beauty and they have all the good stuff that my skin and hair needs without the harmful additives and chemicals that are in the conventional cosmetics.

So the answer for my trick is CARRIER OILS, obviously! Or to be more precise I would suggest only one carrier oil for the different skin types, which can substitute a lot of your cosmetics. Therefore, instead of bringing a suitcase full of beauty products you can take only one small bottle of precious oil with you and have the rest of the space free for whatever you want. The oils that I am talking about are:

1. Coconut oil for Dry Skin
2. Almond oil for Normal Skin
3. Grape seed oil for Oily Skin / Combination Skin

Each one of these oils can be used as a substitute of:

Hair Care:

1.Leave-in Conditioner
Spread a few drops onto your hands and distribute the oil evenly onto your wet/damp hair.
If you have oily hair avoid the roots at all costs!

2.Hair Mask
Massage a generous amount of the oil on your scalp and along the length of your hair.
Leave it for at least 30 mins and wash it off as usual.

Face:

3.Face Cleanser
More information about the oil cleansing method you can find here.

4.Moisturizer
Five – six drops is all you need for your entire face, massage it gently until the skin absorbs the oil.

5.Eye Contour Cream
One drop per eye is enough, gently massage into the skin.

6.Neck Cream
Three – four drops for the neck. Never forget to moisturize the neck area, especially if you have dry or normal skin!

7.Makeup Remover
Place a small amount of the oil on a cotton pad and press to your eye for a 10 – 15 seconds.
Gently start rubbing your eyes as you do with your normal makeup remover.

Body:

8.Hand Cream
Massage a few drops of the oil into your hands, wait for couple of minutes so the skin can absorb the oil and you are ready to go.

9.Body Lotion
Massage the oil generously into your body after taking a shower and enjoy silky smooth and nourished skin.

10.Massage Oil
This one is self explanatory, I guess. Add a few drops sweet orange essential oil to the carrier oil for extra relaxation boost.

11.Tan Lotion / Sunscreen Lotion
You can use these oils as mild sun protector since all of them have a natural SPF.
Coconut oil has SPF between 2 – 8 depending of its quality.
Almond oil has SPF 5 and the Grapeseed oil has SPF 4.

However if you need higher protection, please avoid using conventional sunscreen lotions since they are proved to be cancerogenic. Instead, aim for natural oils with higher SPF like Red Raspberry Seed oil (SPF 28 – 50), Carrot Seed oil (SPF 38 – 40) or Wheatgerm oil (SPF 20). My personal favorite is the Cocoa butter which has SPF 15, incredible chocolate aroma and makes your tan more intense and long-lasting.

12.Even Shaving Cream
I know this sounds a bit weird, but give it a try and you’ll see it works. While you are in the shower, spread small amount of the oil onto wet skin and shave as normal. This technique gives you an additional bonus by leaving your skin so smooth that you may won’t need to add more oil after the shower. #NOMOREDRYSKIN

In total this gives you 12 products that you can substitute with only 1!
Now, how does that sound for a packing trick?
