Hey, Beauties! I’ve discovered the magic of natural oils two years ago and I’ve been in love with them ever since. One of the reasons I love them so much is because natural and essential oils can pretty much substitute every product offered by the conventional cosmetics. I used them for my skincare routine, as a body lotion, hair masks and many more. If you want to know more about the multitasking properties of the natural oils check my post here.
Today I share with you one of the methods that I use to clean my face without using any cleanser. You are going to need:
- 2-3 ml of your favorite oil (I use Grapeseed oil at the moment as it is great for oily skin)
- 2 – 4 cotton pads (depending on whether you are wearing makeup or not).
I was introduced to this method, via the book “Super Skin” by Kathryn Marsden, many years ago. Recently I’ve found another similar routine in “How to Heal from Acne Naturally For Adult Women ” by Frances Kerr. I strongly recommend “Super Skin” for all skin problems and Frances Kerr’s book to adult women with acne/acne prone skin in particular.
The method itself is really simple but at the same time very effective in cleaning your face and removing all the impurities that build up during the day or night. Furthermore, it is equally effective in removing any kind of makeup on the face such as foundation, powder, blush, etc.
The method is perfect for every skin type but it is especially beneficial for people with sensitive skin as you use only pure natural oil instead of store bought cleansers filled with chemicals and preservatives.
So whenever you need to cleanse your face rub a small amount of your favorite oil between your fingers and start massaging your face. Remember to avoid the eye area (I’ll post another article for removi.ng the eye makeup).
When you feel that you have enough oil all over your face, wet your cotton pads with warm water, squeeze them to drain the excess water and start removing the oil from your face. Don’t forget to be gentle to your skin while doing this. Repeat the procedure until there are no impurities left on the cotton pad. Keep in mind that you are going to need more pads if you wear makeup. Rinse your face with lukewarm water few times followed by one rinse with cold water and after that gently pad dry your skin with paper towel.
